Mary Ann Macey Osborn, age 84, died Sunday, January 20, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a devoted wife, amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and caring friend. Her strong Catholic faith was her support throughout her life. She was born in Houston, Texas, on October 28, 1934, the daughter of Abraham and Nozera Hage Macey. She married the love of her life Robert H.J. Osborn III on August 9, 1959 and went on to raise three sons that were the center of her life.
Mary Ann graduated from Lamar High School and went on to the University of Houston where she received her Bachelor of Science in Education. She taught elementary school in H.I.S.D. for 23 years and substitute taught for many years after retirement. She was an active member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Chi Omega, Wednesday Charity Club, L’Entasar Club, Streamliners and The Blue Bird Circle. She enjoyed playing bridge, going on casino trips to Louisiana, and having lunch with her dear friends. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.
She is survived by three sons; John W. Osborn and wife Michele, Robert S. Osborn and wife Juli, and Dr. Ronald B. Osborn and wife Anna, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, brother Louis A. Macey and wife Mary Ann, sisters-in-law Connie Abdalla and Nancy Joseph and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 26, 2019, with a viewing beginning at 9:00 a.m., at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10330 Hillcroft St., Houston, TX 77096. A reception will be held immediately after the mass in Servant Hall. Rite of Committal will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway.
