Frank J. Novak passed away December 31st in Houston, TX. He was born in Plum, Texas on March 9, 1931 and moved to Fayetteville when he was 10 months old and later moved to a family farm in Needville. He worked on his family farm where they grew cotton and corn.
He served in the army as a Sergeant during the Korean war. He worked as a machinist at WKM and was founder of Southwest Machine Works which he started in the seventies, and devoted to supporting his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Julia Novak, daughter Agnes and husband Jimmy Wright, sister Julie Dirba and brother John Novak.
He is survived by his wife Marie,
ten children: Frank E., David & wife Donna, Margaret Stribling & husband Eddie, Edward, Barbara Francis & husband Ted, Kenneth and wife Tina, Mary Pipkin, James & wife Neome, Gregory and Angela Simmons & husband Kier;
twenty grandchildren: Joseph, Jessica Wright Sanchez & husband Jesse, Kelly Wright, Ashley & Dillan Novak, Sara Stribling, Teddy, Gary, Paul and Brian Francis, Mariah Capone, Brittany Rode, Jacob and Zoe Novak, Rachel, Chad & Stacy Pipkin, Christopher & Brandon Novak and Easton Novak;
two great grandchildren: Isaac and Kayla Sanchez;
brother Ludvik, Anton, Tim, Joe; sisters Theresa Todd, Annie Stransky, Tonie Kramer, Evelyn Waterloo, Mary Andel, Martha Matura, Adela Wadephul, Frances Marshall.
Frank was active at Corpus Christi Catholic Church where he served as usher and greeter for many years. He was a founding member of the Knights of Columbus Council No 12385. He helped lead the fund raisers including annual fish fries and brisket sales.
He had a strong work ethic and valued education, family & faith. Due to growing up on a farm, he loved nature, including fishing, hunting and growing fruits & vegetables and spending time with his family.
Visitation: Thursday 6-9pm; Funeral mass: Friday at 10am; Location: Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 9900 Stella Link, Houston, TX 77025 followed by a meal at the Parish Hall and graveside services at 2pm at Greenlawn Cemetery in Rosenberg, TX. Celebrants will be FR Tom Smithson and FR Bob Chabot.
