Sandy spent her childhood in San Antonio, Tyler and Ft Worth, Texas. She graduated high school from Poly Technic High in 1953 located in Ft Worth, Texas.
Little known fact, she was a twirler in high school and still had her baton in her later years which she could still toss amazingly!
Upon moving to Houston, Texas, she met and married Jim Reed. They were married in 1954 and raised 2 sons and a daughter together. They were married for 45 years until Jim passed away in 1999. They loved to travel together, raise their family and loved spending time with their children and grandchildren.
Sandy was a long time member of the Merry Weeders Garden Club in Houston. She had an amazing green thumb and was extremely proud of her backyard oasis that she had created.
Upon Jim’s passing in 1999, she returned to volunteer work with area hospitals and charities. During that time, she was introduced to Carl Arnold by Art and Ann Reed. They married shortly after and spent many years together traveling and visiting family and friends.
After Carl’s passing, she moved to the Clarewood House where she spent her final years. She loved meeting her new friends and enjoyed all of the resident activities, especially bingo and the resident cat, Tiger.
Sandy had a heart of gold. She was extremely proud of her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter. She was always talking about how much she loved her phone calls with them, the pictures they would send her and the times she could see them. Sandy will be extremely missed by everyone that knew her and loved her deeply.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.earthmanbellaire.com for the Arnold family.
