She was born in Danbury, CT in 1984 to Edward and Catherine Lakatos. She attended Bethel High School graduating in 2002 and as a child loved horses, astronomy and playing soccer.
She attended Villanova University majoring in Astrophysics graduating in 2006. She later received a Masters in Secondary Education from George Washington University in 2009. She worked as a teacher in Fairfax County, Virginia for 12 years and after taking a couple years off to focus on her family, she worked as a teacher in Harford County, Maryland for two years. At the time of her death she also worked as a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office for one year.
She will be forever loved and remembered as a compassionate, selfless and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. Her loss leaves a hole that cannot be filled.
Sarah is survived by her parents, her husband Matt, her sister Amy and her two children Mackenzie (9) and Joshua (6).
A receiving of friends for Sarah will be held Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc., 610 W MacPhail Rd, Bel Air, MD 21014, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM.
