Raymond Henry Kohler II, born December 28, 1966 in Kansas City, Kansas passed from this life on July 30, 2024 in Bel Air, Maryland. Most important to Raymond was being a father to his two children, David and Destiny, which has been the focus of his life for the last 14 years. He held family in high regard as a father, son, brother and uncle. After moving out of state, he traveled home to Kansas City for holidays, football games and to visit his mother regularly and called his sisters often to check in and keep in touch.
A graduate of Kansas State University and a lifelong fan, recently attending the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans (2022) and the Elite 8 basketball game at Madison Square Garden (2023). He was a member of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity and treasured the bonds and friendship of his brothers.
Raymond enjoyed extensive international travel meticulously planning trips to many destinations in Europe and a trip to India. He especially loved Gimmelwald, Switzerland. He spent many enjoyable hours meticulously planning overseas adventures with the friends he traveled with and most recently two European adventures with his nephew, Bill.
He was an active member of The Tuesday Night Men’s group and the 805 Men’s Group at Mountain Christian Church, Abingdon. With these groups he helped organize a food bank. He enjoyed the fellowship of this group of men and opportunity to give back to the community.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Mary Elaine Kohler. He is survived by his children, David and Destiny Kohler, his sisters Susan (Rich) Byrne, Sally (Don) Chew, and Sandy (Tony) Scudiero and numerous nieces and nephews.
He will be deeply missed as he was greatly loved.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, 2pm, August 6, 2024 at Mountain Christian Church, Abingdon Campus, 3465 Box Hill Corporate Center Dr, Abingdon, MD 21009.
A celebration of life in Kansas City will be planned at a later date.
