Margaret Jane Bradfield, age 91, of Forest Hill, Maryland passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024. She was born in Woodlawn, MD on September 19, 1933, to the late Elmer W. Sheppard and Margaret Jane Wright and lived there for many years.
Her family moved to Gardenville and Parkville where she attended Clara Barton High School while earning her beautician’s license. She worked full-time for Applause Beauty Shoppe on York Road before taking time to raise her family. Years later she returned to working at the Applause Beauty Shoppe on Harford Road and had amassed a loyal following of customers.
She was married to Norman C. Bradfield for 57 years and was a caregiver for him for 16 of those years. Having moved several times with their two daughters to Towson, Bel Air, and Hamilton areas, they spent their final years in Forest Hill near their children and grandchildren.
Jane was raised in a close family that took pride in hosting reunions and holidays. She was known for her desserts from family recipes handed down through the years. She loved shopping trips with her husband and family members that would take her to Pennsylvania and Williamsburg, VA.
She is survived by her two daughters, Denise B. Carnaggio, (Jim); Carol L. Kahlert; (George), and four grandchildren: Brittany K. Feryus; (John); Cortney C. Alianiello, (David); Casey K. Weber, (Nathan); and Bryan C. Carnaggio. She had seven great-children: Camden, Grayson, Skyli, Sawyer, Grant, Raelynn and Jemma.
Jane was predeceased by her sister, Virginia S. Ritchie, (Bill) and her brother, Howard E. Sheppard (Shirley) and sister-in-law, Gertrude Bruno. She is also survived by extended family members including a brother-in-law, Anthony Bruno, and many nephews and nieces.
The family would like to thank her caregiver, Christine Hopkins, for her loving care for the past several years; and Wendy Snee and the Amedisys Hospice team.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit the Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, MD, 610 West MacPhail Rd, Bel Air, MD 21014 on Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation. The committal service will take place at Parkwood Cemetery, 3310 Taylor Ave, Baltimore, MD 21234.
