I just wanted to let you all know that I know these anniversaries are hard and it takes a lot out of us to remember what that day was like. We just have to go on and remember all the good memories and know that they are with us each day. We never forget but we learn a new way to manage. I love you and am here if you need for anything. I would like to personally thank everyone who took the time to write a message on this platform.  I have read every one of them, and each one has touched my heart.  It is almost surreal that the one-year anniversary is less than a week from today, and reading these messages has truly comforted me during this unbearable time.  May each of us find peace in our own lives by honoring the ethics and altruistic standards by which John lived:  kindness, charitable, compassion for others, and the ceaseless desire for equity and equality in this world.   John,  you were generous to a fault, and I love you for that, but with greater reason, I am forever proud of you for that.  You will always be my Baby John, and yes, I still smile EVERY SINGLE TIME  I think of you walking into my bedroom and asking, "Mommy, are you smiling because your baby is here?"  The answer always was yes, and always will be yes.

I know what it’s like to lose a grandchild, but not a child of my own.

I know this is very late and no one will probably see it, that’s the only reason why i’m saying it honestly, i wasn’t one of johns best friends, but i would still consider him a friend.  Going through this photo album of him really has me thinking and i hope his family has gotten through the grief, i know that they still feel his presence the way i do, and the lasting impact he has had on our lives. John (and his family) i just want to say that you will forever be in my heart and my prayers.

Dear Miller family,
.    I had the pleasure of being John's fifth grade teacher. I remember him as a kind, considerate boy.  Well liked by all of his classmates for his sense of humor, John was always part of the group. I remember one particular school spirit day, the students were encouraged to wear the uniform of a sport that they played. Students wore baseball uniforms, soccer, lacrosse - I even had three students wear their football helmets all day -  even to lunch.  John, not to be outdone, wore his swim cap and goggles all day. We loved it. 

   .  I truly hope your many memories of this sweet boy will help sustain you through this difficult time. I pray for peace and healing for your family.  May you rest in peace sweet John.

I wish I had words to offer that could take away the wrenching sorrow that comes from John’s loss.  It sounds like John was extremely kind and  his loss will be a constant reminder to me of how powerful kindness can be in reaching others.  

John was one of my closest friends, he was always there for me and never failed to make me smile. Just being around him made my day better, he was always looking out for me. If I ever felt bad about something he always made me feel better and showed me I was worth it. I will never forget my 1st day at Patterson mill, I was scared and he came up to me and told me his name and helped me find my classes. He was such a light in my life. He was one of my best friends and I will never forget him, I will always miss our long talks. John Miller will always hold a place in my heart. I love you John
