Jeanne Roemer (Dyott), 76, passed away peacefully Saturday evening October 11, 2014. Her husband, Bud Roemer, of 55 years, was with Jeanne when she joined our Heavenly Father. Jeanne was born August 5th 1938 in Baltimore, MD. She was the daughter of the late Aaron Leonard Dyott and Jeanette Dyott (nee) Weller. Jeanne attended the former Seton High School graduating in 1956. After high school she became a radiologist and worked at Union Memorial Hospital. While working at the hospital, Jeanne studied at the Maryland Institute of Art. Jeanne’s love of color and passion for the arts stayed with her throughout her life. She used these talents as she began her business as an interior decorator. Jeanne originally opened her business, Walls & All, Inc, from the basement of her home. This business would grow and later become known as Jeanne Roemer & Associates. Among the many locations she operated her business, she loved working from the “stone house” in Bel Air on Fulford Avenue. As her business grew, she opened a second location in Bel Air, known as Julia’s. Through her business and social life, Jeanne touched the lives of many people. Many were former customers and colleagues who became lifelong friends. Jeanne possessed a generous spirit, loved a good laugh and a good party.Jeanne’s greatest joy in life was her family. She is survived by three children, Jeffrey Roemer and his wife, Kim of Pylesville, Jennifer Roemer Barstow and her husband, Patrick of Pylesville and John Roemer and his wife, Laura of Churchville. Jeanne’s grandchildren were the light of her life. She especially loved sharing time with them and they could brighten any day for her. Jeanne’s surviving grandchildren are Alexandra Roemer, Casey Roemer, Andrew Barstow, Julia Barstow and Victoria Roemer. She is also survived by siblings Joan Harper, Joyce Hedeman, Leonard Dyott and many nieces and nephews
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Schimunek Funeral Home, 610 W. MacPhail Road, Bel Air, on Tuesday from 6-8 pm, and Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 am at St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Interment St. Mary of the Assumption Church Cemetery.
