Edward Joseph Clark, aged 77, passed away on November 16, 2024, in Abingdon, Maryland. Born on December 23, 1946, in Dorchester, Massachusetts, Edward was known for his caring, funny, and loving nature, often showing a side shyness.
He graduated from Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School and later became a licensed Master Electrician. He was deeply passionate about his profession. Throughout his career, Edward worked primarily on Cape Cod, building houses and working in commercial environments. In the mid-1980s, he joined Ocean Spray at the Middleborough plant in Massachusetts as a Master Electrician. His dedication and skill contributed to a long-lasting career, allowing him to support his family. He was also a proud member of the Teamsters brotherhood.
Edward's hobbies included Ham radio (call sign WA1DDN) as a member of the Whitman Ham Radio Club for many years, building model trains, watching war movies, teaching his trade to his son and engaging in carpentry and woodworking. An avid sports fan, he cheered passionately for the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.
He is survived by his mother, Adeline Clark; wife, Arlene Clark; sister, Rosanne McKenzie; son, Robert Clark; daughter, Carol Tuttle; and grandchildren, Dylan Clark, Ellen Clark, and Hayley Tuttle. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephew, Mandy, Kelsey, and Nicholas McKenzie. Edward was preceded in death by his father, Edward Clark Sr.
A receiving of family and friends for Edward will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc., 610 W MacPhail Rd, Bel Air, MD 21014. This will be followed by a memorial service from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM. All are welcomed to join for a midafternoon lunch at the conclusion of the memorial.
Edward’s life was a testament to his enduring kindness and the quiet strength he carried. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
