Anna, “Annie”, was a caring, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She passed peacefully at Broad Creek Manor Assisted Living where she was lovingly cared for the past year and a half.
She was born to Pasquale and Carmela Della Rose on June 5, 1930. After graduating and completing a secretarial training program at The Catholic High School, she worked for the City of Baltimore State’s Attorney office. A well-matched blind date led to her marriage to Vincent Berna, her husband of 19 years. They built their lives and home in Kingsville, MD where together they raised 2 children, Angie, and Mike. Anna transitioned into a job at Baltimore City Hospital, worked for thirty years and retired as an Office Coordinator for the Chief of Plastic Surgery. Her husband, Vince, preceded her in death and they are now reunited in eternal peace after forty-two years.
Family dinners and Sundays with extended family “down the shore” in Edgemere, were a lifelong tradition which she cherished. She loved to cook and was a master chef when making her gnocchi, crab sauce, and egg plant parmesan. Her greatest joy was spoiling her 4 grandsons. She traveled to their sporting events, bought more Pokémon cards than they needed, and spent many hours in movie theaters with them. She was also blessed with 3 great grandsons.
Anna eventually moved to her condo in Forest Hill, MD where she met many new friends and shared weekly adventures with them. She is survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
