He is proceeded in death by his wife, Norma, his parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, a brother and other relatives whom he dearly loved.
Mike was a swimmer, a fisherman, an artist, a car repairman and a handyman. He loved good music, especially sweet, sad songs. He had a kind, generous spirit, never met a stranger, had numerous friends and touched the lives of many.
He met Norma Lee in 1977, a pretty, Kentucky-born woman who was working hard to raise four children and teens on her own. Mike also had a teen daughter. He used his charm and friendly ways to convince Norma to marry him and they bravely blended their families on June 24, 1977. Together they finished raising their kids, while continuing to live in Indianapolis, and spent their later years in Bloomfield, Indiana, serving their church, gardening, garage selling, working around the house and visiting their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were married 40 years and were truly best friends.
Mike served in the United States Navy. He retired from Ford Motor Company in 1995, after working there for 30 years.
He was a committed follower of Jesus Christ and a member of Harvest Community Church in Bloomfield, Indiana. His favorite book of the Bible was Job. Mike said he wanted to model his life after this ancient man of faith. He wanted to trust God like Job did who had said, "The Lord gives and the Lord takes away. Blessed be the name of the Lord."
