Robert David Finley Jr., known to those who loved him as Pop, a lifetime resident of Indianapolis, passed away on the 28th of February 2023 at the age of 71. Robert was a longtime parishioner of Holy Name Church in Beech Grove, where he served as an Usher, a Eucharistic Minister, as well as an RCIA Sponsor. Bob owned and operated Advance Septic & Sewer, formerly known as Finley’s Sewer Service, from 1981 until he retired in 2016.
Bob’s closest friends and family remember him as a passionate, kind and devoted individual with a soft heart and a feisty spirit. He truly was the whole package. Bob could light up a room with his smile and quick-witted humor. He was always willing to help the ones he loved, even up until the day of his passing, he was doing what he did best, helping others.
Bob leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Tommie Finley, his son Bobby Finley (Michelle), grandchildren Christopher Finley (Tori), Joshua Finley, Makaila and Nicholas Coulom, his sisters Linda Smith, Cris Sweeney (Tom), Tammie Kraning (Ronnie), Angie DeVore and his brothers Rob Lickliter (Ruth) and Jeff Finley; and finally, his beloved dog Champ. He is preceded in death by his father Robert Finley Sr. and his mother Barbara Lickliter.
A visitation for Bob will be held Monday, March 6, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 1301 Main St, Beech Grove, Indiana 46107. A celebration of life service will occur Monday, March 6, 2023 at 6:30 PM, where family and friends can share stories about Bob. 1301 Main St, Beech Grove, Indiana 46107. A mass of christian burial will occur Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Holy Name Catholic Church, 21 N. 17th Ave., Beech Grove, Indiana.
Robert will be laid to rest following cremation in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 1977 S. St. Road 135, Greenwood, Indiana.
