Mrs. Ruth M Shelford

Born November 26, 1965 in New York State, she was the daughter of Wiley Eugene Shelford and Betty Marie Shelford of Mount Hope.

Ruth was a former Department of Corrections employee for many years, working at the Southern West Virginia Regional Jail in Beaver. She was a member of the Fellowship Bible Church in Sprague and enjoyed Women’s Missionary activities with her friends. The family wishes to thank those people, too numerous to name, who shared love and friendship to our sister. Daily encouragement and friendship were often expressed by her and she always was found bringing a kind word or gesture to those she was around. We are glad she made the decision to become a Christian at a young age and look forward to meeting again soon.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Kristen Ledwell at age 16, her nephew Aaron Daniel Shelford at birth, and her parents Wiley Eugene Shelford and Betty Marie Shelford.

Those left to cherish her memory are her brothers Daniel Lee Shelford and Wife Tammy of Nettie, and Timothy Lynn Shelford of Pennsylvania, nieces Cassandra Eileen Shelford and husband Ryan of Fayetteville, and Jennifer Lee Shelford of Fairmont, nephews John Shelford and Timothy Shelford, Jr., both of Pennsylvania, and great niece, Claire Faye Fox of Fayetteville.

A celebration of life will be planned in the spring so her family and friends may attend.
