Reverend Robert Nelson Blankenship

Reverend Robert Nelson Blankenship, age 83, of Princeton, WV, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Bowers Hospice House. Born on February 13, 1936 in Wyoming County, he was the son of the late Nelson Blankenship and Gratia McKinney Blankenship.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Gratia Blankenship. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, of over 25 years, Joyce Graham Blankenship; daughter, Annette Blankenship; several step-children from his second marriage to Atlay Blankenship; his step-children, Teresa Evans and her husband, Mike, Carrie Thompson, and Brian Lambert and his wife, Janis; several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; and his half-sister, June Bias and her husband, Bruce.

Reverend Blankenship loved to travel, he enjoyed going just about anywhere and never met a stranger. He was a veteran of the United States Army having been stationed in Germany. He was an ordained minister of the Baptist faith who loved the Lord.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 1, 2020 in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Pettry officiating. Entombment with Military Honors will follow in the Faith Mausoleum of Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
