Phillip Mark Gillespie

BUCHANAN, Ga. — Phillip “Mark” Gillespie, 52, of Buchanan, GA, formerly of Beckley, WV, passed away in a tragic accident on June 17, 2015. He was born Oct. 24, 1962, in Beckley, WV. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy P. Gillespie of Piney View, WV, his mother and stepfather, Lily L. McClung and H. K. (Red) McClung of Beckley, WV, and paternal and maternal grandparents. He is survived by Glenys Carver of Buchanan, GA, L. Dale Demyan (Big Brother) and his wife Bobbi, his brother, Stephen C. Gillespie, his wife Brandy, their children and grandchildren, Lynn Meadows of Buchanan, GA, as well as numerous other cousins, family, and friends. Mark loved talking with family, friends, and spending time with his church. He collected coin banks from all over the world and enjoyed watching old TV shows. He never met a stranger and would make new friends everywhere he went. He will be loved and sadly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 21, 2015, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. Friends may gather with the family from 1:30 p.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
