Peggy J. Blevins

Peggy Jane Blevins, age 82, of Hinton, West Virginia, passed away on September 16, 2014. Peggy was born on October 28, 1931, to Ruth and Willard Agee in Egeria, West Virginia and married Oakley Blevins on July 6, 1948. They moved to Maryland in 1950 and raised their family in Severn, Maryland. In 1984, she and Oakley retired to Hinton, West Virginia. She’s not only remembered as a loving and fun loving mother and grandmother, but her creativity was seen in her cooking, decorating and antiquing skills. She loved music, singing and had a great sense of humor. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Oakley Blevins; four children, Willard (Nancy) Blevins, Denise (Earl) Stracener, Rebecca (Kent) McMartin and Karen Blevins; seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; and her brother, Lee Agee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Ruth Agee; sisters, Geneva, Mildred, Dreama and Anita; brothers, Pete, Don and Paul. Our heartfelt thanks go to the staff at Summers Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for the loving care she received there. Funeral Services to celebrate Peggy’s life will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at 3pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, 5251 Robert C. Byrd Dr., Beckley, with Elder Keith Mills officiating. Friends may gather with the family Sunday, September 21, 2014 from 2-3pm at the funeral home prior to the funeral services.
