Marie Ann Johnson, 70, of Surveyor, West Virginia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday, October 3, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Sam Vestal and Connie Turner Vestal. Born August 23, 1946 in Princeton, West Virginia. She was of the Holiness Faith. Marie was the most loving, compassionate and feisty lady you would meet. She was a fighter/trooper, loved living and enjoyed each day. She went to dialysis religiously, proving her love of life. With the odds against her, she always kept her spirits up. Marie had a very generous heart and enjoyed helping others. She was a homemaker who enjoyed her animals, being outdoors, shopping and cooking. She worked at several stores during her life and was last employed at Beckley Lowes for 10 years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, John Vestal; sister-in-law, Evelyn Vestal; nephew, Freddie Vestal and half-sister, Sue.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 43 years, Jerry Johnson; brother, Eddie Vestal; mother-in-law, Helen Johnson of Bluefield, WV; brothers-in-law, Ricky Johnson and wife Phyllis of Bluefield, WV, and Ronnie Johnson and wife Tammy of Graham, NC; sister-in-law, Linda Saunders and husband Ronnie of High Point, NC; 10 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews. She loved her animals Baby and Bissy. A special thank you to her very special friends, Teresa Miller, Vickie Butcher, Mary Callahan and Betsy Breedlove who sat by her side comforting her to the end. Friends gather with the family Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 12-2pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 2pm, Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Johnson officiating. Entombment will follow in Faith Mausoleum at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
