Lt. Larry Keith Williams (WVSP Ret.) Larry Keith Williams 70, of Beckley went home to be with the Lord on Thursday August 11, 2016. Born March 15, 1946 in Dundan WV in Clay County he was the son of the late Lessell and Mary Virginia Thomason Williams. Larry was born and raised in Clay County; he was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Serving proudly during the Vietnam War. Following his service to his country, he came home and began his carrier of service to his state by becoming a West Virginia State Trooper. Larry spent the next 37 years serving detachments across Southern West Virginia, ending his carrier in 2006 at the Beckley DMV. Larry was a former Pastor at Holly River Baptist Church in Webster County, he was a member of Faith Baptist Church, and a member of the Addison Lodge of the Free Mason’s, he was a graduate of Bluefield State Collage, and enjoyed Birds, making knives, hunting, fishing, guns, and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his 2 sisters Barbara, and Ann; 3 brothers Lowell, Roger, and David; his step-son Britton Lowery. Those left to cherish his memory, include his loving wife Sharon Williams, a grandson, whom he raised as a son James Colton Lowery, his two daughters Tammy Carpenter and husband Mark, and Robin Arthur and her husband Jimmy, 5 grandchildren, Chandler, Daniel, Cordell Nathaniel and Isaac, 4 great grand daughters, and a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends. Services will be Tuesday at 1:00pm in the chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Parker, and Rev. Larry Halsey officiating. Burial will follow in Clay Memorial Gardens in Clay County. Masonic graveside rights will be conducted Friends may gather with the family Monday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
