Mr. John Claude Thompson Jr.

Our dearly loved, John Claude Thompson, went to be with the Lord peacefully at his home on January 19th 2024. He was born on April 17, 1940 in Besoco, WV, to John and Dixie Thompson. He was a big brother to six siblings, Tommy, Jackie, Doris, Dawnie, Diana, and Pat.

Claude was married to the love of his life, Judy Thompson, for 63 years. He loved The Lord with all his heart, and was a longstanding member of Tilden Community Church. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and sharing a good cup of coffee. He always had a smile on his face, and loved to make others around him smile as well.

Left to cherish his memories are his beloved wife, Judy Thompson, and his three children, Melanie Cooper (Tom) Greg Thompson (Lisa) and Tina Blevins (Keith).

He was a one of a kind Papa to eight grandchildren, Sheena, Aaron, Corey, Austin, Haley, Addie, Courtney, Nicholas, and eight great-grandchildren, whom he cherished. Claude will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Services to celebrate the life of John Claude Thompson, Jr will be held 1:00PM Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Pastor Jack Barber and Pastor Gene Terry officiating with burial to follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.

Friends may gather with the family from 12:00PM until time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.
