Mr. James David "Jamie" Delp II

Jamie was born May 19, 1959 in Beckley. He was the only son of the late "JD" and Nancy Delp.

Jamie graduated from Independence High School in 1977 and went on to Diesel Mechanic School where he graduated in 1979. Around this time, Jamie met the love of his life, Cindy. Their love would lead to the beginning of a beautiful marriage which took place on March 21, 1980. He worked as a mechanic for several years before owning his own business on Harper Road. After owning his own business he went to work for DuPont/E.T.I. After years of employment he decided to quit mechanics and pursue his passion of woodworking. This passion led to him opening Delp’s Cabinets and Woodworx in Sophia. Jamie also enjoyed working with HVAC Systems. Following his retirement, he did what he loved most, fishing. He also loved the outdoors and always helping others. He loved watching his grandchildren and spending time with them, for he was the best PaPaw. Jamie knew almost everything and how to fix it. He would also share his knowledge with others to help them fix things. To know Jamie was to love him. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Ryan Haga.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 44 years, Cynthia "Cindy" Delp; a son, David Delp and wife Ashlee of Sophia; a daughter, Jennifer Mills and husband, Matthew of Sophia; four grandchildren, Trenton and Brady Mills and Autumn and Mason Delp all of Sophia; a sister Mitzi Haga and husband, Glenn of Sophia, extended family and a host of good friends.

A service to Celebrate the life of James David "Jamie" Delp II will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Pastor Larry Cochran and Pastor Sam Green officiating. Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.

Friends may gather with the family from 12:00PM until time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
