Jackie Jean Hamilton

Jackie Jean Hamilton, 86, entered into the presence of the Lord on Friday, January 21, with her family by her side. Jackie was born on March 9, 1935, in McGraws, WV, to the late Dallas Lambert and Gladys Maynor. She married her childhood sweetheart, Edgar Vance Hamilton, on August 13, 1951. They were married for 54 years until his death in 2006.

Jackie was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, and grandmother. Her highest priority was that each of her children and generations afterwards know Jesus Christ as their personal SAVIOR. She loved her husband and children fiercely and cherished every moment she had with them. Not knowing a stranger, she didn’t hesitate to share her testimony or hospitality with them. She was a talented homemaker and loved to sing and play the piano. Her vivacious and witty personality will leave us with a multitude of stories to remember her by.

Jackie was preceded in death by her husband Vance Hamilton, her son Steve Hamilton, her daughter Tonda Lynn Hamilton, one brother and five sisters. She is survived by her daughter Bobbie Jo Brown and her husband Tim, son Mike Hamilton and his wife Karen, daughter Pam Hamilton, son Greg Hamilton and his wife Jennifer, daughter Andrea Goudy and her husband Gary, and Patrick Hamilton and his wife Tonja. She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Jackie Hamilton’s family would like to express our extreme gratitude to HOSPICE & PALLATIVE CARE OF THE PIEDMENT/GREENWOOD, SC, for all they did to help make Mom’s and our final days with her on earth as full of peace and grace as they were. We would also especially like to thank our dear lifelong family friend, Connie Brown, for the exceptional care she provided our mother over the years.

Services to celebrate the life of Jackie Jean Hamilton will be held 2:30PM Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley. Friends may gather with the family from 1:30PM until time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
