Geneva Ann Cook Parker, of Beckley, WV went to her heavenly home surrounded by her husband and daughters on Saturday, December 31. Born in Cyclone, WV on February 9, 1939, where she lived until 1994. She was the daughter of John Wirt Cook and Geneva Neace Cook. Sadly, her mother passed just after Ann’s birth. She was raised by her loving Aunt Money Cook Jeffery along with her four children.
Proceeded in death by brothers; George Herman (Babe) Cook, John W. Cook; sisters; Jean Cook Klipa, Judy Jeffrey Mathis, Carolyn Jeffery Martin; two great-granddaughters; Winona and Samantha Reid.
Ann met her husband and love of her life, Bill Parker on a blind date. They were married on December 31, 1956. They were blessed with three daughters: Penny, Robin, and Wendy. She was the epitome of a good mother and grandmother. As her daughters grew up, she embraced her entrepreneurial spirit; became a licensed cosmetologist in 1979 and opened her own shop “The GAP” in Cyclone. She loved to socialize with her patrons and practice her skills and the 80’s Big Hair styles on her daughters and granddaughters. After moving to Beckley, she became a real estate agent working for Old Colony and Zaferatos Realty. She was a devoted member and loved her “church family” at Calloway Heights Baptist Church.
Ann and Bill’s life together was full of love and happiness for each other and their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They loved to travel with family visiting much of the US including Alaska and Hawaii; also traveling to Canada, Russia, and several countries in Europe.
Ann celebrated life every day. She lived and loved spreading her joy in the moment, not sweating the small stuff. She was always happy and would light up the room when she entered with her smile and natural silver/platinum hair she had since her 30s.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Bill; daughters: Penny (Steve)Toler, Robin (Clarence) Dishmon, Wendy (Jared) Goetz. Grandchildren: Heather Dishmon Noble, Kelly Dishmon Downs, Reagan Toler, Kerri Toler Zaferatos, Andrew Goetz, Jack Goetz.
