Clarence R. “Butch” Joynes, Jr., 69, of Mullens, W.Va. passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at his home.
Born May 24, 1952 in Williamson, W.Va., he was the son of the late Pauline (Cataline) and Clarence Joynes, Sr.
Butch was a retired deputy sheriff with the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office. He was a Vietnam-era veteran of the U.S. Army, spending much of his service stationed in Korea. In his retirement he enjoyed riding his motorcycles, working on his vehicles, and posting memes for his friends on Facebook.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Jimmy Joynes and grandson Cooper Joynes.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children Dustin Joynes and wife Gina, Amanda Wikel and fiancé Rickie Atkins, Michelle Adkins and her fiancé Frankie Flippin; grandchildren Grant and Carter Joynes, Kody, Lexie, and Thomas Wikel, Lilly and Keira Flippin; sisters Becky McKinney and husband Duane, Pat Farruggia and husband Jimmy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 12:00PM until 2:00PM Thursday, December 2 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, 5251 Robert C. Byrd Dr., Beckley, WV 25801. A private family service will immediately follow. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
