Joan Marilyn Christianson

Joan Marilyn Christianson, age 90, of Portland, Oregon and formerly of Alexandria, MN and Ames, IA passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Providence St. Vincent’s Hospital.

Joan was born on August 21,1931 in Neillsville, Wisconsin to John and Ada Cameron. She loved Jesus first, her family and friends and giving gifts to show that love.

She was married to Forrest (Bud) Christianson on November 4, 1950. While she was married she served along side him in business and as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She leaves behind a tremendous legacy, made strong by her love for the Lord and her determination to take the hardest parts of her life and fill them with faith and love. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children Debbie (Randy) Eckard of Ames, IA; Becky (Ken) Beiersdorf of Minneapolis, MN; and Dan (Afang) Christianson of Portland, OR. Grandchildren Justin and Jared Eckard, Nick and Cameron Beiersdorf, Elise and Sariah Christianson. Great Grandchildren, Ethan, Owen and Hazel Eckard and their mother Kallie. Sisters Margie Johnson and Sharon (Dennis) Legler.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest, one granddaughter Sommer Eckard, her brother Jack Cameron, and her parents.
