Troy grew up in Beaumont and graduated from French High School, where he was the first male cheerleader. Troy worked at Mobil Chemical as a process operator, then supervisor, before retiring. Troy was married to the love of his life, Patricia, and together they raised 4 children. Troy loved spending time outdoors, especially traveling. Troy was a man of faith and a member of Dowlen Road Church of Christ. He had a talent for working with his hands. He built his home here in Beaumont himself, and developed a talent for creating wooden bowls with Southwest Designs. But Troy's real passion was fishing, and he and Pat won many tournaments and trophies throughout their life together. The story goes that after Pat caught a 6lbs. 10oz. bass, everyone else had to fight for a seat on the boat with her and Troy.
Troy is survived by son Larry Wise and wife Monica of Lumberton, Texas; daughter Deborah Kattawar of Beaumont, Texas; and daughter Renee Smith and husband Charles of Beaumont, Texas.
Troy was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Ann Laramore Wise; daughter Rhonda Kay Wise; father Regal Volly Wise and mother Beatrice Alvatine Willis Wise; his son-in-law Bill Kattawar II, and brother Glenn Wise.
