Rose Mae Jagneaux, a woman of unwavering faith and boundless love, entered this world on May 30, 1933, in Gueydan, Louisiana, born to Joseph and Eupharize Bertrand. On February 26, 2024, she peacefully departed from this life in Vidor, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, joy, and cherished memories.
Rose's life was deeply intertwined with her Catholic faith, and her love for Cajun music was a testament to her vibrant spirit. She found immense joy in listening to, dancing to, and singing along with the lively tunes that filled her heart with happiness. Every weekend, she brought her family together around the card table, engaging in friendly games and filling their home with laughter. Her cooking skills were second to none, as she delighted in preparing delicious meals that became a cornerstone of family gatherings.
A nurturing soul, Rose dedicated her life to raising not only her children but also extended her love and care to some of her grandchildren. Her home was a haven of warmth and comfort, a place where love and guidance flowed abundantly. Her nurturing spirit left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Raymond Jagneaux, her son Allen Jagneaux, her daughters Carolyn Jagneaux, Valerie Bruce, and Gerri Jagneaux, as well as nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter Helen Baumgarte of Vidor, TX, and her sister Jane Newman of Lake Charles, LA. Her memory lives on in the hearts of her 15 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a Rosary Prayer Service commencing at 6:00 pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont. A Celebration of Rose's Life will take place on March 2, 2024, at 10:00 am, followed by her interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
