Oscar was an outdoorsman, and enjoyed all that came with that title. He loved sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys, and was a coach for youth sports for many years. His children remember that he also frequently volunteered at the skating rink where he would bring them along while he refereed the floor. Some of his other hobbies and interests included spending time with family and friends (he was a people person), gardening, working on his car, riding motorcycles, dancing and watching old western movies.
Oscar was preceded in death by his parents Fred Alfaro, Sr. and Martina Gonzales; his brother Fred Alfaro, Jr. and his sister Trinedad Boudreaux.
Oscar is survived by his son Brian Alfaro and his wife Tammie; his daughters Brittany Bowden, Brooke Arevalo and her husband Carlo; his sisters Linda Galaviz and her husband Gregory, Flora Parker, and Teresa Guidry; his brother Pete Gonzales; his grandchildren Brandon Bowden, Blake Alfaro and Mason Alfaro and his step-grandchildren Stryker and Slade Donaldson.
Oscar will also be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
