Maria Concepcion "Chita" Klahn, 95, of Brownsville, died Friday, November 10, 2023 surrounded by her family at her residence. Chita was a longtime resident of Beaumont, then lived in Galveston until the passing of her husband, Joe, before moving to Buna over 6 years ago. Chita and her husband were longtime members of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Beaumont. Chita enjoyed sewing and cooking and spending time with her family, she was known for her pies and cakes which she baked from scratch, she also enjoyed playing the piano, going to garage sales, and refinishing old furniture with her late husband Joe. She was the last of her generation and was well loved by her many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 am on Friday, November 17, 2023 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont, under the direction of Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 5:00 pm to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont.
Chita was preceded in death by her loving husband Joe Klahn, her parents, Antonio and Concepcion Villareal Cisneros, brothers, Tony Cisneros, Tito Cisneros, Amalia Cisneros, and Refugio Henderson.
Chita is survived by her sons, Joe Klahn of Silsbee, Robert Klahn and his wife Esther of Buna, and James Klahn and his wife Rhonda of Nederland, daughters, Sarah Waldren and her husband Jeff of Lumberton, and Roxanna Gipson and her husband Dave Hedgepeth of Galveston, grandchildren, Amber Tong and her husband Michael, Christy LeDoux and her husband Adam, Christopher Klahn and his fiance' Nicole Gardner, Paul Bernard, Chelsea Bernard and her fiance' Christian Payton, and Aaron Bernard, and by her great grandchildren, Jacob Najera, Caleb Najera, Gabriella Klahn, Ethan Tong, Elijah Klahn, and Alisa Klahn.
Chita will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
