Carolyn Ann Bellue Holly passed away on March 31, 2023 in Beaumont, Texas. Carolyn was born July 1, 1943. She was preceded in death by her father, Wirt Everett Bellue, Sr. and her mother, Mrs Marie Cobb Bellue, her nephew, Shane Bellue and numerous aunts, and uncles, She is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins to all of whom she was devoted.
Carolyn is also survived by two brothers Barry Lee Bellue and Wirt Everett Bellue, Jr and his wife, Rachel.
In a speech class at Northwestern State University, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, September, 10, 1962, Carolyn met James Larry Holly. After a three-year non romantic, very close friendship, on December 7, 1964 Carolyn and Larry attended a Baptist Student Union Missions banquet together. Holding hands while returning to campus due to the cold, Carolyn and Larry instantly fell in love. On February 7, 1965, Larry asked Carolyn to marry him and on August 7, 1965, they exchanged solemn wedding vows which they faithfully kept for the next 57 years.
Carolyn’s and Larry’s friendship began around their faith in Jesus Christ and that commitment never languished. In 1964, Larry spent the summer in Kenya East Africa. During that summer, Carolyn ‘s father sent Larry $20 which he used to buy a mother of pearl New Testament. When Larry gave that Bible to his friend, Carolyn, she commented, “Someday, I will carry that in my wedding.” Eleven months later, Carolyn carried that Bible in her wedding to Larry.
In the coming years, Carolyn and Larry had two children — Carrie Elizabeth Holly, who would marry Sam McMahan and Richmond Everett Holly, who would marry Jennifer Owens.
Carrie and Sam would have four children — Beau, Hannah, Holly, and Elizabeth. Before Carolyn’s death, Beau married BreAnna who has a daughter, Corra Jade. Richmond and Jennifer would also have four children — Emma, Kate, Richmond and Wyatt.
Carolyn adored each of her children, their spouses and their children. She prayed for each of them daily and challenged each of them to love and to follow Jesus Christ.
Carolyn was deeply committed to her faith and aggressively, passionately and relentlessly pursued a personal relationship with Jesus.
Carolyn was a “prayer warrior” and through daily, disciplined prayer and through the challenging of others and all she knew, she supported the kingdom of God. Her prayer-life included the advancement of the United States of America and the encouragement of conservative servants of this nation.
Carolyn was also a dedicated financial supporter of the Republican Party and of President Donald Trump. Carolyn had friends and contacts across America and throughout the world for whom she prayed and whom she admonished to fight the good fight of faith and truth.
She wrote and communicated regularly with dozens of people. And, she never failed to follow-up and was often moved by Holy Spirit to call or contact the seemingly most insignificant persons.
Carolyn loved the Word of God and we spent hours and hours mining the Scriptures and digging into Truth.
It is impossible to exaggerate the depth of Carolyn’s pursuit of her faith. I shall forever be challenged by Carolyn’s life and legacy to love God more and more. I shall always love her and cherish the memory of every moment we spent together.
Rest in peace my beloved. I eagerly await our reunion in God’s heavenly Kingdom. I shall daily thank God for our love and life together. Your entire family loves and misses you.
