Age 86, resident of Cherry Valley, CA for seventeen years. Ruth was born on May 31, 1925 in Harmony, Pennsylvania, and passed away at her home on November 16, 2011. She was the Class of 1942 Salutatorian for Zelienople High School, and she received her Bachelor’s degree in Music at Oberlin College in 1946.
A homemaker, Ruth also worked in earlier years as an administrative secretary at the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Southern California and as a substitute teacher for the Covina Unified School District.
Ruth was a member of the Presbyterian Church and a lifetime member of Presbyterian Women. She was a deacon at Beaumont Presbyterian and she sang in the church choirs. Ruth was active in Cherry Valley-Aires, Highland Springs Country Club, Carol’s Kitchen, and the Friends of Beaumont Library.
She is survived by six children, twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by Dr. Donn Bair, her husband of thirty-one years; by Major (Ret) Clarke Lampard, husband of thirty-one years; and her three siblings.
Inurnment will be held on Friday, December 9, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside CA 92508. A Memorial service will be on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Beaumont Presbyterian Church, 702 Euclid Avenue, Beaumont, CA 92223.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in her name to: the Visiting Nurses Association of the Inland Counties - Banning Home Health and Hospice Services, c/o 42-600 Cook Street, Suite 202, Palm Desert, CA 92211; Beaumont District Library, 125 E. 8th St., Beaumont, CA 92223; or The American Cancer Society.
