Earl J. “Bud” Hansen passed away the morning of August 13, 2010, at the age of ninety. Bud was born March 15, 1920, in Omaha, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Hansen in 2000. Bud leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, Anna Hansen; his son, Tom McCormick; two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. With his incredible personality and sense of humor, he was loved and respected by all of those whose lives he touched. Fascinated by airplanes, Bud joined the Army Air Corps and served during World War II. He received numerous medals and was honorably discharged in 1945. He had remained close to many of his Army buddies. Bud went on to serve on the Los Angeles Police Department for over 30 years. Bud and Anna lived in Whittier, California for 25 years. Upon retirement, they moved to Cherry Valley, and currently reside in the Sun Lakes Resort Community in Banning. During his retirement, Bud enjoyed playing tennis and golf and traveling with Anna. We have been blessed to have known him and will never forget him. A Rosary will be said on Thursday, August 19, 2010, at 7:00 PM, at the Weaver Mortuary, 1177 Beaumont Ave. A Mass celebrating his life will be held on Friday, August 20, 2010, at 10:00 AM, at Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church, 1234 Palm Ave. He will be laid to rest at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, California. Arrangements were entrusted to Weaver Mortuary, Beaumont, California.
