Carol Frances Champion

Carol F. Champion was born December 24, 1921 in Cambridge, MA and passed away on December 9, 2020 in Palm Springs, California. She was looking forward to Christmas eve and looking forward to turning 99 years old in a few weeks. On February 19, 1944, Carol married William (Bill) Champion in Santa Monica, California and became a dedicated career military wife and mother. As a military wife, she spent much time traveling with her family and enjoyed living overseas during various military assignments. Carol loved reading and always had a book in her hand. Upon retirement, she and her husband Bill retired in Sun Lakes where they both enjoyed golfing. Bill predeceased Carol on December 5, 2004. Carol is survived by her daughters Susan Champion Craker and her husband Dennis A. Craker of Menifee, California; Jean A. Champion and her husband Brian C. Miller of Palm Springs; son, William (Bill) H. Champion and his wife, Barbara M. Champion of Tucson, Arizona. Carol was also survived by five beautiful grandchildren, Melanie A. Langhans of Atkinson, New Hampshire, Michael E. Langhans of Huntington Beach, California; Amelia D. Champion of Redmond, Washington; Kayte L. Champion of Montgomery, Texas; and David Torrez of Henderson, Nevada. Carol is also survived by six wonderful great grandchildren with whom she loved interacting and always smiled when she was able to spend time with them; Brayden Langhans, Kian Langhans, Braden Hunsaker, William Torrez, Haylee Sheard and her newest grandson, Sebastian Champion. Carol is also survived by one brother, Paul Frazier, Peabody, MA; and one sister, Marion L. Copley, Los Angeles, California along with many loved nieces and nephews. Carol considered herself blessed with her family and felt that she was most fortunate in having such a good life.
