William Vance Reedy

William (Bill) Vance Reedy, 75, of Beach City, TX, passed away Jan. 18, 2012. He was born Feb. 27, 1936, in Mineral Wells, TX. He served as plank-owner aboard the USS Saratoga from 1955-1959 ending as Machinist mate petty officer 2nd class. He then worked as a pump mechanic for 32 years at Texas Eastern. He was also a volunteer fire fighter with the Beach City Volunteer Fire Dept., a reserve officer with Mont Belvieu PD and elected Beach City Marshall.

He was preceded in death by his parents, WE Reedy and Ella Jewell Knight Reedy, and brother, Thomas Wayne Reedy.

He leaves behind wife, Barbara Sue Breland Reedy and children, David Reedy, Leslie Ann Blasingame, Christopher Reedy, Charlotte Reedy, Jonathan Reedy, James Reedy and their families; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He has two remaining sisters, Anita Jenkins and Kathy Westerman.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Earthman Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery, on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. Family will gather at the home following services.
