William Lloyd, 87, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on December 29, 2023, leaving behind a trainload of cherished memories. Affectionately known as "Bill," he was born on April 23, 1936, in Phoenix, Arizona, and embarked on a life full of love, laughter, and sawdust.
Bill was a true jack-of-all-trades, with a heart as big as Texas. He was kind, loving, and always ready to lend a helping hand. Whether he was tinkering with his woodworking projects, cheering on his favorite NASCAR drivers, or spending quality time with his family, Bill knew how to make every moment count.
In his professional career, Bill held the esteemed title of Chief Engineer of Facility Care at Trinity Church. With his expertise and can-do attitude, he kept things running smoothly, ensuring that the church was always in shipshape condition.
Bill also proudly served in the Naval Reserve for two years. He sailed through life with honor and dedication, leaving a lasting impact on his country and community.
When it came to matters of the heart, Bill found solace and inspiration at MercyGate Church. It was there that he discovered a spiritual connection that fueled his kind soul and brought him closer to his loved ones.
Survived by his daughter, Margaret Wickert, and her husband, Darrell Wickert Jr.; his daughter, Arlene Winn, and her husband, Greg Winn; his grandchildren, Nick and Brittney Buttram, Zachary and Paige Buttram, Scout Wickert, Cooper Wickert, and numerous great grandchildren, Bill created a legacy of love and laughter that will forever echo through their lives.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Charlene Lloyd; his son, Leslie Lloyd; his dear sister, Rachel Elliott; his brother, Leslie Lloyd Jr.; and his loving parents, Leslie and Margaret Lloyd.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 am - 11:00 am on Friday, January 5, 2024 at MercyGate Church, 9627 Eagle Dr, Mont Belvieu, TX 77523. A lively celebration of Bill's life, where his spirit will soar with joy, will take place beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will take place on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 2:00 pm in Little Bethel Memorial Park, Duncanville, TX. The Navarre Funeral Home in Baytown, TX, is honored to be assisting the family during this time.
