Susan graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and attended nursing school. She was a nurse for multiple Physicians/OBGYN in Baytown. She was general manager of Richmond Brothers, worked for Evergreen Pointe Golf Course in all aspects for 20 years, and was a licensed Real Estate Agent.
Susan was a lifetime member of Trinity Episcopal Church and served in all aspects. She was a member of the Jane Long DAR Chapter for 21 years, was past Regent of DAR, and past president of Bishop Hines Guild at Trinity Episcopal Church.
Susan enjoyed traveling, baking, jewelry shows and making jewelry for her customers. She also enjoyed helping others when they needed it most, and spending time with family and friends.
Susan was preceded in death by her father, Henry Thompson Taylor; mother, Lillie Flora Gillette; and sister, Judith Ann Wiedeman.
She is survived by her husband, Ted B. Hazelwood; son, Shelby Green and wife Megan; grandchildren, Kinley and Ashlyn; brother, Tommy Taylor; sister, Betsy Padar, and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 4 pm, Sunday, October 1, 2023, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 815 S. Broadway St., La Porte, Texas 77571.
