Stella Jeanette Radle

Stella Jeanette (Bird) Radle of Mont Belvieu, Texas was born August 11,1946 in Cedar Bayou, Texas and passed away peacefully on April 4, 2024, at her home surrounded by family. Stella was a dedicated special education teacher and dyslexia specialist for Goose Creek CISD. She retired after 32 years of service but continued to tutor students in Goose Creek and Barbers Hill for many more years.

Stella was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and “Nanny.” She was an avid shopper, loved to travel and cruise with her “Rowdy Bunch” friends, and her favorite hobby was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Stella was preceded in death by the love of her life for over 40 years, James Glenn “Jimmy” Radle as well as her father and mother George F. and Dimples Bird, brother George Eugene “Gene” Bird and her in-laws James F. and Lena Mae Radle. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Carol and Matt West of Mont Belvieu; son Steven Glenn Radle of Mont Belvieu; grandchildren Alexandra and Trent Rutherford, Carson West, Erin Radle and Payton Radle; great-grandchildren Hazel Guidry and Easton Rutherford all of Mont Belvieu; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Darrell and Susan Radle of Lubbock, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her.

Stella was an incredibly strong, devoted Christian woman. She survived not one, not two, but three different types of cancer. She never gave up and was always faithful in God’s undying love and His plan for her. She was a fierce advocate for children and volunteered her time with CASA Foster Program of Liberty and Chambers Counties. She was passionately involved in improving and making a real difference in children’s lives. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

The family will hold a visitation on Monday, April 8, 2024, at Navarre Funeral Home at 2444 Rollingbrook Drive Baytown, Texas from 5-8pm. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at the Rollingbrook Fellowship at 505 Rollingbrook Drive in Baytown, with Bill Yowell officiating. Pallbearers will be Carson West, Trent Rutherford, Trey Franks, Justin Robertson, Edmund Jennings, and Scotty Martin. Honorary Pallbearers are John David Gore, Darrell Radle and Logan Renteria.
