Mr. Wootton was a member of the Cedar Bayou Baptist Church of Baytown and the Bay Area Shooting Club and worked for Conoco for 32 years in various positions.
He graduated from Shawnee High School in Shawnee, Oklahoma and from DeVry Technical School, Chicago, Illinois with a TV/Radio Servicing Diploma.
He served two tours of duty in the US Army attaining the rank of SP/4 radio operator, drafted in 1958 and stationed at Ft Bliss/McGregor Guided Missile Range, El Paso, Texas, he was recalled to active duty in October, 1961 due to the building of the Berlin Wall.
Preceding him in death are his parents, a sister and a niece. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Anita; two sons, Samuel C. Wootton and wife Brenda of Fulshear and Victor A. Wootton of Baytown and two nieces in the McPherson, Kansas area.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 12, 2015 at Cedarcrest Cemetery with Dr. Mark Broussard officiating. His ashes will be interred following the service.
