Samuel Thomas

Samuel Thomas was born March 4, 1939 to Samuel H. Thomas and Ina Mae Taylor. He passed away Nov. 6, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard Thomas and sisters Jerlean E. Booker and Audrey Dell Saddler. He is survived by his wife Loretta Thomas, son Anthony Thomas, brothers Travis and Roy, 5 step-children, 22 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, along with numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Sam was a U.S. Army veteran, serving his country for 20 years. He did tours in Europe, Asia, and Alaska and ended his Army career at Fort Hood. He was a faithful and dedicated member of Lions Club International and the Baytown Lions Club serving for more than 46 years. He held several officer positions in the Baytown Club and District 2-S2 Lions and was awarded a Melvin Jones Fellowship. He loved Lions Club almost as much as he loved his family and friends. He will truly be missed.

Service for "Lion" Sam will be Monday, November 19, 2018 at 10am at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Rd. Baytown, TX. Burial will be at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial, Houston, TX at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to: Texas Lions Camp, P.O.
