Roy Monroe Coleman, Sr., 82, of Baytown was born July 10, 1929 in Conroe and passed on to glory on Monday, July 18, 2011. He was a Corporal in the Army National Guard from 1954 until 1955. He retired from Houston Natural Gas and Pipeline Company, which later became Entex. After retirement, he remained active in natural gas transmission companies as a consultant. He was a loving and caring father, grandfather, and great grandfather who enjoyed golf, traveling, and being with family. He was patient, giving, and always ready and eager to help anyone in need. He was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and is now with him in eternity.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Margaret Coleman; brothers, Tommy Coleman and Billy Joe Coleman; and sister, Marie Coleman. He leaves behind his wife, Dorothy Faye Coleman; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Kaye and Roger McCoy and their son, Roger; and son and daughter-in-law, Roy Jr. and Lisa Coleman and their daughter and son-in-law, Shereé and Jesse Gomez and their children, Alexis, Jenae, Kalie, David, and Diana.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, July 22, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Dr. Brad Hoffmann officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Roy Coleman, Jr., Wendell Romans, Gary Cobb, David Harmon, Cody Orfak, and Clint Orfak.
We will miss his presence in time, but know that we will be with him again.
