Our dear Mother, Pauline McCullough, passed on to join her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sept. 2, 2022. The love she expressed for God, Family, and Country were embodied in the manner that she lived her life and the example she set for others. Her love was unconditional. She is survived by her children, Lois and Fred Fassino and Patsy Cargill and her brother, Roger (Mary) Winters. Pauline was the proud Grandmother of Sharon Fassino, Stephen Fassino, Karen and Paul York, Elise and Michael Allen and Laura and Alan Dahlberg. She is also survived by her Great Grandchildren who are Caleb Allen, Colton Allen, Kerstin Dahlberg, Seth York, Nathan Dahlberg, Alyse (Hunter) Patterson and children, and Cody (Dezi) York. Pictures and videos of their activities and events were the one thing sure to bring a smile to her face in recent months. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Pauline was predeceased by her parents James and Laura Winters and by her beloved husband, Emery L. McCullough Jr. She was also predeceased by her brothers and sisters: Albert (Oraline) Winters, Earl (Bessie) Winters, Ebon (Arnett) Hopkins, Lois (Lowell) Moore, Nellie Mae (Orville) Wright, Sybil (Bob) King, Elizabeth (Ernest) Barefield, and George Winters.
Pauline was the family historian and spent many years gathering and tracing the family history before the advent of the computer. This interest became the subject of many of their trips and vacations in their RV. They were quick to tell you they had traveled to most all of the fifty states, and their grandchildren benefitted by traveling with them on a few of those trips. Mother loved children and frequently when shopping could be heard to say, "they know a grandma when they see one." Pauline was also an advocate for education and a force behind further education for her family. She was a 1939 graduate of Milby High School.
Mother was a member and served offices in the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, San Jacinto Descendants, Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames, Magna Carta Dames, and 1812 Daughters. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Baytown, Eastern Star, Beauciant, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Baytown. Pallbearers will be Pauline McCullough's grandsons and great grandsons.
The family wishes to thank the staff and owners of The Villa in Katy, her second family, for their support and loving care of our Mother.
Services celebrating the life of Pauline McCullough will be held at Navarre Funeral home located at 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, TX. 77521. Visitation will be at 10:00 am followed by services at 11:00 am.
