Mike Ryan Martinez

Mike Ryan Martinez, former United States Marine, was born August 12, 1985 and journeyed peacefully into eternity from his home on the morning of March 13, 2007 in his sleep. He had an intense passion for friends, family, music, movies, food, weight lifting, motocross, military history, and his pit bull, Lucky Iris. Mikey’s bigger than life personality and sense of humor made him countless friends who loved him and loved to be around him. Music was an integral and absolutely necessary part of his life. Whether he was performing onstage with friends in bands or just listening while working out, he always had to have it. He dreamt of serving overseas in defense of his country and for his fellow Marines, and devoted much of his time to Marine history and training. His goal of becoming a personal fitness trainer had just been realized before his untimely passing.

He leaves behind in this world his parents, Mike and Janet Martinez, sister, Jennifer Martinez, and nephew, Christion Martinez, all of Baytown; grandparents, Mike and Josephine Mora and Eva Martinez, all of San Antonio; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He lives on forever in the memories of his family and the host of friends who shared so many wonderful times with him. Let him be a reminder to never take our time here together for granted.

His family received friends at Navarre Funeral Home Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, March 16, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home. At his request, he will be cremated afterwards.
