Lisa Kay Creekmore Woods was born in Baytown, Texas, on July 1, 1961, to Doyle Eugene Creekmore and Jean Parker Burleson Creekmore. She passed away peacefully at her home in Baytown, Texas, on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at the age of 61 after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Lisa graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1979, where she was a Brigadier, inductee of Quill and Scroll, and member of the French Honors Society. She is a graduate of Lee College. A Realtor for over 21 years, she was a top producer and member of the International President's Circle and International Diamond Society at Coldwell Banker Realty. Lisa had a deep commitment to service, with a conviction to help others. In faith, she was a minister at Eden Fellowship for 6 years. In community, she was a Past President and Life Member of the Service League of Baytown. Additionally, she held several offices in Baytown Junior Forum as a Sustainer. In family, she worked tirelessly for over a decade in many leadership roles to fundraise for her son’s school, Baytown Christian Academy, including chairing the annual BCA Dinner Auction. Whatever cause Lisa devoted herself to, she did so with excellence and passion.
With an appreciation for the finer things in life, Lisa was a patron of the arts, holding a deep love for music, theatre, and film. Throughout her life, Lisa had a particular fondness for dancing, spending her youth in ballet. She remained active throughout life as an avid fitness enthusiast with a love for cycling. Her unshakeable strength extended to her character, as she devoted her life to her family and child. She loved to travel with her son and appreciated the beauty in the world.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Jean Parker Burleson Creekmore; step-mother, Patricia Antoinette Creekmore; grandparents, John Parker Burleson and De Lela Mae Partin Hood; John Holland Creekmore and Oma Elizabeth Creekmore; step-grandmother, Margie Mae Burleson; uncles, Robert Gene LaVergne, Holland Bowie Creekmore, Clyde Creekmore, and Leon Jamison; aunts, Shirley Ann LaVergne, Eunice Creekmore, and Jannie W. Jamison; cousin, Mark Robert LaVergne; nephew, Judd Katopodis; and dear friends, Deborah Vaag and James Rodney Woods.
She is survived by her son, Mason Phillip Woods; father, Doyle Eugene Creekmore; brother, Michael Doyle Creekmore (Kim); nephew Rylan Michael Creekmore; and dear friends, Phillip Brent Woods and Stacy Lynn Tillery Woods.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 am, Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, TX 77521.
