Lea Janette Cornelius

Lea Janette Cornelius, 77, of Huntsville, formerly Baytown, was born November 19, 1940, in Caldwell, TX and passed away Monday, May 28, 2018, in a Richmond healthcare facility. She was a 1959 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and graduated from Abilene Christian College and received her Master’s degree from the University of Houston Clear Lake. She retired from the Goose Creek school district where she taught at Stephen F. Austin Elementary School. Lea enjoyed raising and riding horses and travelling the world but she especially loved her grandchildren and was an independent spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Lura Bell Moore. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, C. S. and Heather Cornelius and Phil Cornelius; sister, Carolyn Macha; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home.
