Jose Felix Cerino-Lopez age 78 returned to heaven on January 12, 2020. He was born on March 1, 1941 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Jose Cruz Cerino and Calixita Lopez in Angostura, a small community near San Luis Potosi. It was here that he was raised, learned to work on the farm and went to school. He is preceded in death by both of his parents, Jose Cruz and Calixta, brothers, Teofila, Lorenzo, Ramon, Jose and sister Mercedes and one son, Juan Raul. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Yolanda Palomo, Sons' Jose Luis (Esther), Felix Saul, Daughters, Imelda (Juan) Palomo, Rosario (Manuel)Garza, Sylvia (Alejandro)Arismendez, Daughter in Law, Maria Cerino. Grandchildren, Edwin, Christopher Palomo, Beatrice Balderas (Juan), Geoffrey and Sarah Garza, Alejandro, Natalie, Geovanni, and Gizelle Arismendez, Judith, Yuri, Romario, Priscilla, Adela, Leonardo, Fabian, Andrea, Aiden and Adrian Cerino. Great Grand Children Lourdes and Aaron, Sister Camila Cerino De Leija and Brother Sixta Cerino.
Mr. Cerino was not a stranger to hard work. Throughout his life he worked as a farm laborer, delivered milk and raised animals on the family farm. His first American experience came as a"Brasero" working the fields in California. He later worked in construction as a laborer with various companies including, United Steel, Zachary, Brown and Root, and later owned his own landscaping business. He was a member of the Local Union of Construction.
Mr. Cerino was a devoted member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where he served as a minister of the Holy Eucharist, member of the Nocturnal Adoration Group, Christian Family Movement, Charismatic Prayer Group and participated in retreat ministries. He would participate in the annual live Stations of the Christ, Apparitions of Our Lady of Guadalupe and would represent the "Old Year'' at mass on New Year's Eve. He was a friendly, "happy go lucky" man that would go out of his way to help anyone in need. He loved working, spending time with his family, grandchildren, watching old movies and singing with or without mariachis.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Christian Mass of Resurrection will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Cedar Crest Cemetery, Baytown, Texas.

El senor Cerino no era ajeno al trabajo. A lo largo de su vida, trabajo como obrero agricola, distribuidor de leche, crio animales en la granja. Su primer experencia en las E.U. fue coma Brasero en California. Despues fue obrero de la construccion en varias companias, entre ellas, United Steel, Brown y Root, y mas tarde fue dueno de su propio negocio de jardineria. Fue miembro de la Union Local de la Construccion.
El Sr. Cerino era un miembro devoto de la Iglesia Catolica de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe, donde se desempeno como ministro de la Sagrada Eucaristia, miembro del Grupo de Oracion Nocturna, Movimiento Familiar Christiano, Grupo de Oracion Carismatica para 37 anos y participo en ministerios de retiros. Participaria en la Via Cruses Vivientes y representaria el "Ano Viejo" en la misa en la vispera de Ano Nuevo. Era un hombre amistoso, "feliz y afortunado" que se esforzaria por ayudar a cualquiera que lo necesitara. Tambien le encantaba pasar tiempo con su familia y sus nietos. Tambien le encantaba ver peliculas antiguas y cantar con mariachis.
La Familia recibira amigos de 5:00 a 8:00 p.m. Se recitara un Santo Rosario a las 6:30 de la tarde. La misa catolica se llevara a cabo en Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe con un sepelio para seguir en el cementerio Cedar Crest en Baytown Texas.
