Helen L. McMillin Scarbrough, 93, of Baytown, TX, passed away on August 2, 2014. Helen was born on April 22, 1921, in Lebanon, MO, the fifth of seven children. Her father was a farmer and she grew up without electricity. Helen loved God very deeply and she lived her Christian principles. She was affiliated with the West Minister Presbyterian Church. She was raised with her family in Baytown, TX and lived in Bosque Farms, NM for many years.
Helen loved to travel and write, and did both extensively. She traveled to most states in the USA including Alaska, as well as many foreign countries including China, Western Europe, Russia, Israel and Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Dr. Kelly K McMillin Sr., and Eugene Scarbrough; parents, Clarence A Lorance and Oma Bell Holder; and all of her brothers and sisters.
She is survived by daughters, Marky Cauley, and D.J. Brewer and husband George; son, Kelly McMillin and wife Darlene; granddaughters, Kelly Cauley Jackson, Casey Cauley McArdle, Katrina Brianne McMillin, Linde Brewer Kong, Truemy Canon Brewer; grandsons, Kyle Kendrick McMillin, Geordon Canon Brewer, Madison Canon Brewer; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Grace Jackson, Trevor Maddox Jackson, Lucy Claire McArdle, and Ori Augustus Kong.
