Chase Logan Henscey, 28, of Mont Belvieu, Texas, passed away on December 1, 2022 in Houston, Texas at Houston Methodist Hospital. Chase was born in Baytown, Texas on April 22, 1994 to Wayne and Trudy Henscey. He grew up in Mont Belvieu with his brother Colby and sister Camryn. Chase was a graduate of Barbers Hill High School and attended Lee College before accepting a position as an Operator at Covestro and later moving to Enterprise Products where he was employed for the last 3 years.
Chase had an unwavering faith throughout his many health trials. He never doubted God’s plan for his life. His favorite scripture Romans 8:18, tattooed on his arm, was a scripture he lived by. His Christian character was evident in how much love and concern he had for his family and friends and the passion and conviction he had in fighting the horrible disease he had been diagnosed with. He was selfless and always put others before himself , even while battling this disease after it had limited him to a wheelchair with very limited mobility. Regardless of how he was feeling, he was always more concerned about the feelings of those around him. Not once in his 3 year battle did Chase complain or feel sorry for himself. He was the ultimate warrior in his battle.
Chase was passionate about duck hunting. He loved the outdoors, listening to Texas Country Music, watching sports, and spending time hanging out with his friends and family, especially his two nieces. And he loved Ellie, his chocolate lab. Chase will remain a bright light in the hearts of all that were blessed to know and love him. Many lives will be affected by his example of how a true christian handles adversity and holds strong to his faith. He would want everyone to know he is healed, he is rejoicing in the presence of his Lord and Savior, and he has arrived in his heavenly home. And more importantly he wouldn’t want anyone to be upset and hurting over his death.
Chase is preceded in death by his grandparents, Dannie Henscey, Barbara Steadham, Alvis Steadham, and Kenneth Mixon; and his aunt, Ann Henscey. He is survived by his parents, Wayne Henscey and Trudy Henscey; his brother, Colby Henscey and sister in law Toni Henscey, sister Camryn Henscey and future brother in law Kobe Tedrick; nieces, Blakely and Brynlee; aunts and uncles, Julie Deville and Freddy, Melinda Broussard and Wayland, Terry Turner and Todd; cousins, Taylor, Shae and Eric, Cole and Caleigh, Dwain and Alicia, Bryan and Amy, and Elaine. He is also survived by his wife Kaylie Villemez Henscey, Mother and Father in law Carrie and Darin Villemez, brother and sister in law Garrett and Georgia Villemez, nephew John and numerous other extended family members and friends. The family would also like to mention special friends Tyler Anders, Logan Parsons, and Randy Oliver who would visit him at home and in the hospital during his long illness.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 from 12-1 PM at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, TX 77521. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM with interment to follow in Cedarcrest Cemetery, Baytown, TX. Casual attire is requested.
