Charles (Chuck) Ray Sager, 82, of Cove, Texas passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 2, 2019. He was born on January 19, 1937 to the late Clarence Ray and Alice Elizabeth Sager. Charles enjoyed playing basketball, football and track at Barbers Hill High School where he also graduated. He married Jeanette Rose in 1959, and was blessed for 59 years of marriage and to this union four children were born. He served as a deacon for 49 years at Old River Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing and all sports. He was a master welder and retired from Exxon Mobile. He had a passion for coaching Little League, which he did for many years.
Charles is proceeded in death by his parents; son, Kenneth Sager and sister, Alice Faye Bremer.
Charles is survived by his wife, Jeanette Sager; sons, Ray (Amy) Sager and James Sager; daughter; Linda (Gary) Flynt, Walter ((Sandra) Jeffers, Chris (Theresa) Turpin and Gonzalo (Carolina) Rios; grandchildren, Kayce (Jason) Prater, Cade Sager, Kendra (Jim) Ponder, Charles and Jonathon Flynt, Cassidy and Courtney Makris, Anna Lauren Jeffers and Michael (Shelby) Marcontell; great-grandchildren, Kolt, Drake, Joey, Jake Prater, Paisley Sager, Jordyn, Isabella, Ellie, Harley Ponder, Hadley and Stevie Marcontell, Quinton, Samantha, Cale, Luke Turpin, Joaquin, Antonia, Francisca and Facundo Rios; brothers, Ben and Jake Sager.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock until seven o’clock on Monday the 4th of March, at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road in Baytown. The funeral service honoring Charles will be on Tuesday the 5th of March at ten o’clock at Old River Baptist Church, 12948 FM 1409 in Dayton where Pastor Wes Hinote will officiate. Internment will follow at Earthman Memory Gardens, 8624 Garth Road, Baytown.
