Charles “Charlie” Girard Cox, 69, of Baytown, Texas passed away October 10, 2019 peacefully at home from health issues. He was born at his family’s home in Ganado, Texas on January 27, 1950. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Condell Cox, Sr. and his mother, Mildred Eloise Cox.
Charlie is survived by Janis Cox, his wife of 50 years; daughters and their spouses, Suzi and Dean Ronning of Baytown, Texas; Tammy and James Yarber of Mont Belvieu, Texas; and Sandy Cox of Baytown, Texas; three grandsons, Chris Yarber and wife, Ashley of Dayton; Corey Yarber of Mont Belvieu; and Caleb Yarber of Mont Belvieu; and his two great-granchildren Alek Yarber and Alice Yarber of Dayton, Texas.
Charlie is also survived by his brothers Roy Derwood Cox and wife, Vicki of Crockett, Texas; Roy Condell Cox, Jr. and wife, Sandra of Baytown, Texas; and his sisters Charlotte and husband, Joe Cook of Edna, Texas; and Cathy and husband, Michael Sackey of Inez, Texas; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Charlie graduated from Edna High School and attended Wharton Junior College. He especially loved sports from baseball to football, rebuilding car engines, building computers, and later in life his beloved min-pin, Peanut. Charlie retired as an Operations Supervisor from Merichem in Houston after 28 years.
