Bennie was a native and lifelong resident of Baytown and a retired payroll clerk from the Ashland Chemical Company after 19 years of service. She was a member of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church, a former member of Central Baptist Church and enjoyed yard work and homemaking.
Mrs. Owen was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James D. Owen.
Survivors include her daughters, Deana Ondrias and her husband Ronnie of Wharton, Jan Hooper and her husband Joe and Lizanne Blystone and her companion Robert Henry all of Baytown; brother, Elmer Nichols, Jr. of Madisonville; grandchildren, Amy Moseley, Katie Ondrias, Jamie Cole, Jenny Files and her husband Patrick, Ryan Blystone and his companion Randi Righter and Karlee Blystone and her companion Trevor Burgess; 9 great-grandchildren and 2 nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Navarre Funeral Home. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the funeral home with Dr. Mark Broussard officiating. Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens.
