Winona M. Summers

Winona, cherished and adored, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and faithful friend joined her Lord and Savior on February 26, 2022 at the age of 96. She was born in New Iberia, Louisiana grew up in Krtotz Springs, Louisiana married and raised her eight children in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was an avid bowler in her younger days and worked in cosmetics for Mason Blanche and Dillards. She, is preceded in death by her parents Amilcar and Lucy Frederick, her sister Jaunita Spillers, husband Laurence L Summers and granddaughter Brandi Waguespack. Winona is survived by her eight children Sharon Waguespack, her husband Ray, Donald, his wife Connie, Jackie, her partner Michael, Ricky, his wife Terri, Susan, her husband Mike, Ken, his wife Sheela, Scott, his wife Cindy and Karen Summers. She leaves behind fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren and ten great great-grandchildren. Pallbearers: David Smith, Corey Summers, Ronald Summers, Jeff Summers, Charles Spillers, Marc Summers, Jesse Summers, Justin Martin. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2020 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Visitation will resume Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 9:00 am until funeral service at 10:00 am at Greenoaks Funeral Home 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA 70815. Interment will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
